HC Deb 19 July 1977 vol 935 c455W
Mr. Moonman

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services which voluntary organisations have been obliged to relinquish their projects to local authority control over the last two years; and whether it is his policy to encourage this trend.

Mr. Ennals

I regret that the information sought in the first part of the Question is not available.

It may sometimes be appropriate for a local authority to take over a project which was initiated by a voluntary body and has become established, leaving the voluntary body to pursue other activities. I have seen no reason to develop a national policy on this, which is essentially a local matter.
