§ Mr. Ovendenasked the Secretary of State for the Environment what action he is taking to ensure that ratepayers in rural areas do not have to pay twice for street lighting, recreation facilities and other services which are provided by district councils in urban areas and parish councils in rural areas of the same districts.
§ Mr. Guy BarnettSufficient powers are already available under the Local Government Act 1972 to ensure that local authorities able to reach equitable agreements as to how the cost of services should be shared between their ratepayers.
