§ Mr. MulleyWe intend to give our full support to the studies proposed at the North Atlantic Council Summit meeting on l0th-llth May, and discussed further at the Ministerial Defence Planning Committee meeting on 17th-18th May, for a long-term programme to maintain the effectiveness of the Alliance's defences in the 1980s, and for the preparation of a time-phased defence action programme concentrating on a limited number of areas where collective action is required in the short term.
