HC Deb 04 July 1977 vol 934 c401W
Mr. Shersby

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer when he last reviewed the exchange control rules relating to the settling-in allowance of £20,000 for emigrants; and if, in view of continuing inflation and changes in the sterling exchange rate, he will undertake a further review shortly.

Mr. Robert Sheldon

The exchange control rules, including those applying to emigrants, are kept under continuous review and changes made whenever necessary and possible in the light of our balance of payments situation.
