§ Mr. McCuskerasked the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland if he will make reciprocal arrangements with the Government of the Irish Republic to prevent the practice of British citizens working in the Republic claiming unemployment benefit in Northern Ireland.
§ Mr. CarterI believe that the existing arrangements to prevent the practice of British citizens working in the Republic of Ireland while claiming unemployment benefit in Northern Ireland are as effective as they can be and that this type of fraud is minimal. If, however, the hon. Member has any evidence of fraud in particular cases I shall be glad if he will bring it to the attention of the Northern 21W Ireland Department of Health and Social Services.
