HC Deb 21 January 1977 vol 924 cc340-1W
Mr. Peter Mills

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment if, in view of the fact Bristol is on the periphery of the South-West Region and is not regarded as a natural centre for that region by its inhabitants, he will, in any future local government boundary changes, encourage closer links between Cornwall and Devon, and Somerset and Dorset, rather than bringing forward proposals for regional government based on Bristol.

Mr. Shore

I have no current proposals for major local government boundary changes, or for regional government.
