Mr. Rose

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department in respect of the classes of offences proposed to be dealt with solely before magistrates' courts under the Criminal Law (Amendments) Bill [Lords], if he will circulate in the Official Report the number of convictions and acquittals, respectively, in contested cases before magistrates' and Crown courts separately in the last year for which figures are available.
