HC Deb 17 January 1977 vol 924 c50W
Mr. McCrindle

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer what representations he has received suggesting that the limits of income which may be set against tax by self-employed persons is too low; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Robert Sheldon,

pursuant to his reply [Official Report, 14th January 1977], gave the following reply:

In the last three months representations on this subject have been received in a joint memorandum from the Consultative Committee of Accountancy Bodies, the Institute of Actuaries, the Bar Council and the Law Society, and also in a small number of letters from private individuals. On the second part of the Question my right hon. Friend would not wish to anticipate his Budget Statement.
