§ Mr. GoldingSo far over 11,800 people in the Greater London area have been assisted by the temporary employment subsidy scheme, the Job Creation Programme, the work Experience Programme and the youth employment subsidy—and the recruitment subsidy for school leavers, which it replaced. The job release scheme, which came into operation on 3rd January 1977 for a period of six months, was restricted to518W assisted areas because, in general, they are the areas most affected by structural unemployment.
