§ Mr. Kilroy-Silkasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer if, further to his answer to the hon. Member for Bury St. Edmunds (Mr. Griffiths) on 2nd December 1976, Official Report, c. 233, he will make a statement on the practice of the Revenue regarding what is acceptable as reasonable removal expenses and as proper control of such expenses.
§ Mr. Robert SheldonWhether such expenses are regarded as reasonable depends on all the circumstances of the particular case; it is not possible to lay down any formula. They are regarded as properly controlled if the inspector is satisfied that the sums actually paid out are of the kind and amount which have been accepted as reasonable.
