§ Mr. Andrew F. Bennettasked the Secretary of State for Education and Science whether she is satisfied with the current provision being made nationally for courses leading to qualifications in education management for senior staff in the education service such as those from schools and colleges; and what sum of money, if any, she intends to allocate for the development of work in this area of in-service training.
§ Mr. OakesThe main limiting factor is the number of senior staff that local education authorities are able to release to attend long courses. To meet anticipated demand, my right hon. Friend has approved three additional courses in polytechnics and colleges for 1977–78. Four other proposals for new courses are currently under consideration. My right hon. Friend has no powers to allocate18W money for local authority education purposes.
