asked the Lord President of the Council what is the volume in centilitres of the half carafe and full carafe of wines as available in the dining rooms of the House of Commons; and what are the current prices for House Red and House White wine in carafes and half carafes.

The small carafes and large carafes of wine available in the dining rooms of the House of Commons contain 50 cl and 75 cl, respectively, as required by the Weights and Measures (Sale of Wine) Order 1976. SI 1976, No. 1120. These quantities are displayed on cards on all the tables in the dining rooms and from 23rd February these cards will also show the purchase prices which are as follows:

White wine— £
Small carafe 1.00
Large carafe 1.50
Red wine—
Small carafe 0.96
Large carafe 1.44
