HC Deb 24 February 1977 vol 926 c671W
Mr. Grylls

asked the Secretary of State for Industry how many of the sector working parties mentioned the current high level of interest rates charged to industrial borrowers as being a problem; and what action he proposes to take to remedy these difficulties.

Mr. Cryer

About 20 sector working parties specifically referred in their latest reports to difficulties caused by the high level of interest rates current when the reports were prepared. The Government's general view on this subject is set out in paragraph 8 of the paper "Industrial Strategy: The Government Response", copies of which were placed in the Library on 3rd February.
