HC Deb 24 February 1977 vol 926 cc643-4W
Mr. Alexander W. Lyon

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department how many immigration cases were referred to him by hon. Members in each quarter of the last three years; and with what result.

Dr. Summerskill

The number of letters received on immigration cases is not recorded separately from those on immigration matters generally. But in 1974, 1975 and 1976 the number of letters received from right hon. and hon. Members on immigration and nationality matters was about 6,250, 7,500 and 8,000 respectively. It is not possible to summarise the replies sent to these letters.
