§ 49. Mr. Andrew F. Bennettasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer if he will make a statement about the dates for Bank holidays for the next five years.
§ Mr. Denzil DaviesIt would not be appropriate to do so. Decisions concerning the dates of Bank holidays have sometimes to be taken in the circumstances of the time and in consultation with the interests concerned. To publish proposals for five years ahead would prejudice such consultations and commit future Governments.
