§ 25. Mr. Atkinsonasked the Secretary of State for Defence if he will make arrangements to increase substantially the engineering apprenticeship intake into Royal ordnance factories and allow them to tender for non-military engineering work.
§ Dr. GilbertThe engineering apprenticeship intake into the Royal Ordnance factories increased to 255 in 1975 and 261 in 1976, as against an average of 178 over the three preceding years. The factories are already allowed to undertake civil work when defence capacity is temporarily under-employed.
