HC Deb 16 February 1977 vol 926 c238W
59. Mr. Lipton

asked the Secretary of State for Education and Science what proposals are being considered to reduce the opening hours of the Wellington House Museum at Hyde Park Corner.

Mr. Oakes

This museum is an outstation of the Victoria and Albert Museum and, therefore, will be subject to the Civil Service staff economies. One of the ways by which staff may be saved is by reducing opening hours. The Director is considering with his staff whether it will be necessary to reduce the period during which the museum will be open to the public.
