Mr. Henderson

asked the Minister for the Civil Service (1) how many copies of each of the following newspapers are purchased every day by his Department in order to keep himself and senior civil servants informed on Scottish affairs: The Scotsman, the Glasgow Herald, the Press and Journal, the Daily Record, the Scottish Daily Express and the Dundee Courier and Advertiser;

(2) how many copies of each of the following newspapers are purchased every week by his Department in order to keep him and his senior civil servants informed on Scottish affairs: the Sunday Post, the Sunday Mail and the Scottish Sunday Express.

My Department's library purchases three copies ofThe Scotsman and two copies of the Glasgow Herald. One copy of each is used by the Department's Press Office to provide press cuttings for all members of the Department.
