Mr. Hicks

asked the Secretary of State for Employment what was the number of school leavers unemployed on the registers of the Bodmin, Liskeard, Looe, Gunnislake section of Tavistock, and Saltash-Torpoint sections of the Plymouth Employment Exchanges; and what proportions these figures represent of those school leavers who were on these registers on 31st August 1976.

The following table shows the numbers of unemployed school leavers registered at the careers offices which cover the places specified.

Region; and if he will list the firms receiving regional employment premium and the amount per firm in the Northern Region.

The estimated amount of regional employment premium which will have been paid in the Northern Development Area during the financial year 1976-77 is £64 million.

REP is paid to employers in respect of establishments engaged in manufacturing in development areas. Information about the amount paid to individual firms is regarded as confidential commercial information which is not made public.
