§ Mr. George Rodgersasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer if he will make the age allowance payable to a married man or his wife born before 6th April 1913 available at the single person level to retired women who are unmarried and between the ages of 60 and 65 years.
§ Mr. Robert Sheldon, pursuant to his reply [Official Report, 11th February 1977; Vol. 925, c. 878], gave the following information:
I see no good reason for changing the present rule under which age allowance becomes available for men and women alike when they reach the age of 65.
