§ 57. Mr. Biggs-Davison
asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department which immigrants' organisations are subsidised from central Government funds.
§ Dr. Summerskill
The United Kingdom Immigrants Advisory Service receives a grant in aid under Section 23 of the Immigration Act 1971 for the purpose of providing advice and assistance to persons having a right of appeal under the Immigration Act 1971. Various grants are made to voluntary organisations, either directly or through local authorities, for specific projects which benefit immigrants wholly or in part. If the hon. Member has any specific organisation in mind, perhaps he would let me know.
