HC Deb 03 February 1977 vol 925 c433W
Mr. Wyn Roberts

asked the Secretary of State for Wales what steps he proposes to take in order to assist the beef sector of agriculture in Wales.

Mr. John Morris

The economic situation of the beef sector of the agricultural industry in Wales as in the rest of the United Kingdom was an important element in the recent annual review consultations with the Farmers' Unions. The situation as it was then revealed and as it has developed subsequently will be taken fully into account in determining United Kingdom attitudes in the forthcoming CAP price-fixing negotiations.

Mr. Wyn Roberts

asked the Secretary of State for Wales what representations and consultations he has had concerning the position of the beef sector of agriculture in Wales.

Mr. John Morris

I have met representatives of the Farmers' organisations in Wales in the context of this year's annual review, when the discussion of the conditions and prospects of the agricultural industry in Wales included that of the beef sector.
