§ Sir Bernard Braineasked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food what are the reasons for continuing the export trade in live food animals which outweigh the fact that all the conditions laid down by the O'Brien Committee for restarting that trade have not been fulfilled; and whether the pending review will cover the extent to which the traffic is falling short of the O'Brien conditions.
§ Mr. StrangThe export trade in live food animals is at present being conducted in accordance with the main recommendations of the O'Brien Committee and with the terms of a motion passed by this House on 16th January 1975. The current review will cover all developments since that time.
