HC Deb 14 December 1977 vol 941 c286W
Mr. Wigley

asked the Secretary of State for Wales what changes there have been in the administration of planning appeals in recent years affecting his exercise of his power to overturn an inspector's decision.

Mr. John Morris

None.

Mr. Wigley

asked the Secretary of State for Wales in what proportion of planning appeals against refusals to permit housing developments involving under 60 houses he confirms the inspector's report, and in what proportion he overturns it.

Mr. John Morris

I have no authority either to confirm or to overturn decisions on planning appeals by inspectors under the Town and Country Planning (Determination of Appeals by Appointed Persons) (Prescribed Classes) Regulations 1972.
