HC Deb 09 December 1977 vol 940 c941W
Mr. Madden

asked the Secretary of State for Industry what communication has taken place between his Department and Sona Consultants Limited in the last three months about the future use of the Moderna plant in West Yorkshire; and what information has been given by the company about any plans to undertake manufacturing at the plant.

Mr. Cryer

A letter was sent by my Department's Leeds regional office to Sona Consultants Ltd. on 10th November asking about future plans for the Moderna premises at Mytholmroyd with particular reference to financial assistance. So far there has been no reply, and we have no current information on the company's intentions.

Mr. Madden

asked the Secretary of State for Industry if any application for financial assistance, submitted by Sona Consultants Limited, is being considered by his Department, and if he will give details of any such application.

Mr. Cryer

An application for financial assistance submitted by Sona Consultants Ltd. on 7th March 1977 was not proceeded with, and with the applicants' agreement was considered as withdrawn on 4th August 1977. No further application has been made.
