HC Deb 08 December 1977 vol 940 c799W
Mr. Arthur Lewis

asked the Lord President of the Council whether, in view of the fact that there has been a debate in the House of Lords on the Central Policy Review Staff's report on official overseas representation, he will seek to obtain the views of the House of Commons before coming to any decision on this matter.

Mr. Foot

I hope it will be possible to have a debate in this House, but I suggest it would be helpful to await the views of the Defence and External Affairs Sub-Committee of the Expenditure Committee which is currently studying the report.
