§ Mr. BishopNone. The Milk Marketing Scheme 1933, as amended, empowers the Milk Marketing Board to determine the ways in which milk is to be marked. Ministers cannot therefore issue directives to the MMB concerning milk marking. The agricultural industry has undertaken a voluntary programme of metrication, the Milk Marketing Board's changeover to metric units taking effect from 1st October 1976.
