HC Deb 25 April 1977 vol 930 c220W
16. Mr. Corbett

asked the Secretary of State for Industry how many applications for selective financial assistance under the Industry Act have been (a) approved, (b) rejected and (c) are under consideration in the latest convenient 12 months for the establishment of workshops and co-operatives; and how this compares with the position one and two years earlier.

Mr. Cryer

One formal application, which was unsuccessful, was received in the 12 months to 31st March 1977. Three successful applications were received in 1974–75, and one successful and one unsuccessful application was received in 1975–76. These figures exclude discussions with potential applicants where the proposal was not pursued or alternative arrangements were made, for which statistics are not available and excludes recent applications from the established co-operatives of Meriden and KME.
