asked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs whether briefing was provided for the Leader of the Opposition before her visit to China; and whether he intends to hold discussions with her on her return.

In accordance with normal practice my right hon. Friend's Department provided briefing for the Leader of the Opposition before her visit to China. We would, of course, be happy at any time to receive an account of her recent Far Eastern tour.
