HC Deb 21 April 1977 vol 930 cc119-20W
16. Mr. Stainton

asked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food how many of the Agricultural Dwelling House Advisory Council referral cases to which reference was made in his answer to the hon. Member for Sudbury and Woodbridge of 17th March 1977 involved prevailing upon district councils to use their best endeavours; and, of these, how many were in the livestock sector.

Mr. Strang

In all the 42 cases mentioned in the reply I gave the hon. Member on 17th March the agricultural dwelling-house advisory committees recommended that the cottage occupiers should be rehoused, but with varying degrees of urgency. In 39 cases the farm business was either wholly or partially concerned with livestock; and in 28 cases there were specific references to the cottage occupier's employment as a worker concerned with livestock.—[Vol. 928, c.293.]
