There is no single international exchange for butter and cheese sales. It is not therefore possible to state world market prices.
On 1st October 1976 the offer prices of 80 per cent. butter and cheddar cheese produced in the United Kingdom at firsthand point of sale were £1,102 a metric ton and £990 a metric ton respectively.
