§ Mr. Pardoe
asked the Secretary of State for the Environment what is the annual cost to public funds of the South West Economic Planning Council; and if he is satisfied with the value for money obtained.
§ Mr. Guy Barnett
The main costs of supporting the South West Economic Planning Council fall on the Department's regional organisation and cannot be separately identified. My view is, however, that the amount of staff time has not been inordinate bearing in mind the40W advice given to the Government by the council on a number of subjects.
