§ Mr. Geraint Howellsasked the Secretary of State for Wales if he is satisfied with the state of the dairy industry in Wales; and if he will make a statement.
§ Mr. John MorrisThe drought has affected milk production and the availability of grassland and fodder crops in Wales this summer, but the situation is now improving. The drought measures the Government announced on 5th October, particularly the increase in the guaranteed price for milk, will offset the worst effects of the drought and I would expect expansion to resume next year.
