§ Mr. Shersbyasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer if he will publish in the Official Report details of the various categories of goods confiscated by Her Majesty's Customs and Excise at London Heathrow Airport during the year ended 31st December 1975, together with the value of such goods and how they were disposed of; and if he will state to what purpose the proceeds of any such disposals were devoted.
§ Mr. Robert SheldonThese details could not he obtained except at disproportionate cost to public funds. Goods confiscated are normally either sold, destroyed or restored to the importer on suitable terms: the proceeds of sales are paid to the Exchequer.
