§ Dr. Edmund Marshallasked the Secretary of State for Social Services when he now expects his Department to be able to receive applications for mobility allowance from disabled persons aged over 50 years.
§ Mr. Alfred MorrisWe have recently started accepting applications in respect of children aged 11 to 14—for payment from 24th November. This means that people aged between 11 and 50 are now eligible. We shall extend eligibility next to children aged 5 and over and then, by stages, to people between 51 and pension age. I cannot at present forecast when particular further groups will be included as this depends to some extent on the numbers eligible in earlier groups, but we hope to complete the phasing-in programme during 1979.
