§ Mr. Hooleyasked the Minister for Overseas Development what contribution will be made by the United Kingdom towards the fifth replenishment of the resources of the International Development Authority (IDA); and how this will compare with the contributions of the USA, Japan, West Germany and France.
§ Mr. PrenticeA fourth round of talks about the fifth replenishment of IDA has just taken place in Japan between representatives of potential donor countries. I 125W hope these discussions, which cover both the total of the replenishment and the contributions to be made by individual countries, will be successfully concluded by spring 1977. We ourselves support a total target of $9,000 million, and are prepared to shoulder our fair share of such a figure, but it is still too soon to forecast the outcome of the present negotiations.
