HC Deb 22 November 1976 vol 919 cc1006-7W
Mr. Craigen

asked the Secretary of State for Employment how many part-time jobs are occupied by men and women, respectively; and if figures are available of the respective number occupied by men and women over retirement age.

Mr. Golding

In June 1975 there were 697,000 male and 3,551,000 female employees in part-time employment in Great Britain. Broad estimates from the 1975 Family Expenditure Survey indicate that around two-fifths of male employees and around one-tenth of female employees in part-time employment were over retiring age.
