HC Deb 22 November 1976 vol 919 c956W
18. Mr. Durant

asked the Secretary of State for Trade what consideration he has given to representations made to him by the British Insurance Brokers' Council on the regulation of insurance brokers in the United Kingdom; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Clinton Davis

I welcome the council's proposals, which are being carefully considered. They have important implications for the sale of insurance, and legislation may be required. I shall be consulting the insurance industry and others likely to be affected, including consumer interests.
