asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer what steps he can take to assure exporters that the £ sterling will not be revalued.

My hon. Friend is aware that I cannot comment on intervention policy. The important point is that sterling is now in a competitive position, and the Government hope that United Kingdom exporters will take full and vigorous advantage of this opportunity to expand our exports.
