§ Mr. Eldon Griffithsasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department how many hours he estimates would be required to collate the average weekly sums paid in basic wages to uniformed police constables in the Metropolitan Police District during the years 1974, 1975, and the first six months of 1976, bearing in mind that these figures are already available to the Metropolitan Police.
§ Dr. SummerskillI regret this information is not available to the Metropolitan Police and could not be obtained save at disproportionate cost. As I promised in my reply to the hon. Member's Ques-328W tion on 4th November—[Vol. 918, c. 657–8]—I am looking further into the matter and hope shortly to write to him.
