asked the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland if he will name the members of the Northern Ireland Police Authority, the date of their appointment, the length of their appointment and the amount of their individual salaries and allowances.

I would refer the hon. Member to the replies given by my right hon. Friend the then Secretary of State to Questions from my hon. Friend the Member for Kingston upon Hull, Central (Mr. McNamara) on 9th June 1976 and the hon. Member for Antrim, South (Mr. Molyneaux) on 28th June 1976. The Chairman of the Police Authority receives remuneration of £1,000 per annum. Members of the Authority are entitled to an attendance allowance on the same basis as district councillors; current rates are £5 for attendance for a period of four hours or less and £10 for more than four hours. Civil Service rates of travel and subsistence are also payable.
