BrownIn the course of modernisation work, the Association has found that roof insulation material in some Weir steel houses contains blue asbestos, the fibres of which can present a serious health risk if inhaled. Tenants are rehoused while the improvement work is being carried out, and I am advised that there is no risk to them or to those living in other similar houses where the insulation material remains undisturbed. Rigorous measures are being taken to protect employees engaged in the remedial work.
