HC Deb 09 November 1976 vol 919 c149W
Mr. Carter-Jones

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer if he will consider abolishing the vehicle excise duty on motor cars purchased by disabled people for their own use who are drawing mobility allowance; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Robert Sheldon

No. Our general policy is that people in receipt of mobility allowance should not receive exemption from vehicle exercise duty as well.
