§ Mr. Eldon Griffithsasked the Secretary of State for Social Services if it is now the case that persons who decide to give up work before retirement age may be required to continue paying national insurance contributions, even though they are willing to accept a diminution in future benefits.
§ Mr. OrmeNo. Since 6th April 1975 the payment by non-employed persons of Class 3 contributions has been voluntary.
