asked Her Majesty's Government:

How many day training centres have been set up under the Criminal Justice Act 1972; where these are located; and how many persons have been required to attend them as a condition of a probation order.

There are four day training centres, located in Liverpool, Inner London, Pontypridd and Sheffield. The numbers of persons given probation orders in 1974 and 1975 and required to attend a day training centre are as follows (figures for 1973 could be obtained only at disproportionate cost):
