HC Deb 28 May 1976 vol 912 cc420-1W
Rev. Ian Paisley

asked the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland what is the total amount of money received in Northern Ireland by grants from the EEC.

Mr. Moyle

, pursuant to his reply [Official Report, 20th May 1976; Vol. 911, c. 707], gave the following information:

About £7.25 million has been received in Northern Ireland directly from EEC funds. A further £25.699 million has been allocated to Northern Ireland and claims for payment have been or will be submitted to the relevant Fund in accordance with standard EEC procedure. However, a large proportion of grants from the EEC are made to the United Kingdom as a whole and it is not possible to calculate precisely Northern Ireland's share of these receipts.
