asked the Secretary of State for the Environment what guidance he has given to the Ordnance Survey on its pricing policy for maps.

In setting its prices the Ordnance Survey is expected to take account of increased costs and of the need to contain its already substantial dependence on Exchequer support. I hope before long to give the survey further guidance on pricing policy.
