§ Mr. McElhoneLast August I invited a wide range of educational interests to comment on the principle of replacing the present primary diploma course with a three-year degree course. Many of these indicated a preference for a four-year course, and a number of bodies have made similar representations in commenting on my proposals for reducing intakes to teacher training courses. I am considering all these views and will make a statement in due course.
