§ Mr. Mike Thomasasked the Secretary of State for Social Services if, pursuant to the Minister of State's reply [24th February 1976, Official Report, column 178] he will make a statement on his negotiations with the drug industry on doctor education on prescribing and drug costs and in it list the points he is raising with the industry; and if he will conduct similar negotiations with the BMA and the bodies responsible for doctors' education.
§ Dr. OwenDiscussions with the association of the British Pharmaceutical Industry are not yet concluded. I hope to make a statement soon. The British Medical Association is aware of the discusions, and I would propose to consider the results jointly with them and with the bodies responsible for medical education.
