§ Mr. Eldon Griffithsasked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Comonwealth Affairs if he will delay appointing an ambassador to Angola until he is satisfied that British subjects now held prisoner by the regime are being treated in accordance with internationally recognised standards of humanity and that 374W Christian missionaries now in detention there have been released.
§ Mr. RowlandsI understand the hon. Member's concern, but I do not think there would be advantage in delaying the appointment of an ambassador, when agreement has been reached on the establishment of diplomatic relations.
